Every woman with a penchant for sex toys should own at least one good bullet vibrator. They’re small enough for precise clitoral stimulation, don’t get in the way during partner play and thanks to continued innovations in tech, they’re more powerful than ever. Gone are the days of endless packs of LR44 cell batteries, the bullet vibes of today are usually USB rechargeable and they’re even waterproof. Sold!
The original Lelo Mia used to be my vibe of choice as it was one of the first good USB rechargeable models. Sadly it wasn’t waterproof and it had a habit of breaking if you needed to regularly charge it. Lelo Mia has since been revamped as Lelo Mia 2 and now features more power and a waterproof finish. I’m yet to give the new model a go but it’s going up against some pretty stiff competition thanks to the sexual geniuses behind the We-Vibe range of sex toys.
I first tried We-Vibe Salsa (no longer available, but mine is still going strong after 4 years!) back when I was working with Lovehoney. I didn’t really rate it at first because to be honest, I was using it wrong. Mia lacked a little something in the motor department and it meant some pretty heavy-handed manipulation at times. Salsa is completely different, the vibration is fast and high-frequency, meaning the lightest touch can create some very impressive orgasms.
I don’t mean it lightly when I say I had a bit of an addiction to my Salsa. I’d get annoyed if I couldn’t find it, it travelled everywhere with me and lovers have been known to steal and hide it. The latter is the prime reason I discovered the We-Vibe Tango after bumping into the We-Vibe US crew at the Aren’t We Naughty training day in Brampton, Canada back in August.
After explaining my fandom for Salsa and the unfairness of stolen vibrators, I was handed a purple Tango vibe to take home with the wise words ‘don’t let anyone know you have this one’. The We-Vibe team have some seriously good sexual karma on the way for that gift, I’m telling you. Salsa now sits on standby, mainly for inconvenient low-battery moments.Tango practically lives in my bed, so much for keeping it quiet! The design is longer than the Salsa by about 3mm, seems to have a bit more oomph and has a sloped tip for a more ergonomic fit against the body.
The charger has been given a makeover to feature USB connection, so you can plug it into various devices as well as to the mains using an adapter plug. It’s operated with a single touch button and 8 vibration modes (but I’ll be honest, I almost always have it on continuous levels 3 or 4) and it’s still waterproof.
The waterproofing is where I came a little unstuck. Over the course of 2 months, the silicone button cover stretched over the pins and prevented charging, so I had to remove the button cover to continue using it. It’s still otherwise wonderful but sadly no longer waterpoof, so Salsa still has its spotlight in wet rooms. It’s highly likely that my We-Vibe had a small manufacturing fault to cause the button cover to block the charging pins. I’m also quite sure if I were to contact We-Vibe, they’d happily replace it. They’re wonderful with customer service. I’ve got my bases covered though. 😉
If you decide to go for a We-Vibe Tango Bullet Vibrator, then you might want to check out the We-Vibe Tango Pleasure Mates Collection. It includes 2 G-spot silicone sleeves for Tango and as a big G-Spot stimulation fan, I’m keen to give ‘em a go. I’m a wee bit disappointed they don’t have a silicone cock ring ready to go – now that would be a game changer for Tangos expertise.
